I don’t know where to start with this.. Hi everyone.. That’s always a good starting line. Earlier today, Amandas mom called and said that her grannie wanted to take us out to dinner. I was a bit hesitant, considering I was suppose to coach Kobies first t-ball game tonight. But family is always first. So we lounged around today and at 5:45 Susan (Amandas mom) came to get us. We then went to pick up granny at her house. We were headed to Fishermans Galley here in Rocky Mount for dinner. When we got there, her dads police car was there so I was like “cool, he’s going to meet us for dinner”. As we were walking in, her grandparents showed up and we all went in together. When we went in, we went to the back room where the big parties set. I didn’t even think nothing about it. When we got in the big room, there was a large table setup, with a table of people beside of us I didn’t recognize. Mel, Tim, and Courtney were at our table. I thought it was pretty cool we all met at the same time for dinner. In case you don’t remember Mel, Tim, and Courtney, they are great friends of ours, who have helped us so much around Christmas, and all through this past year. We think the world of them. Come to realize, the family next to us was their family and friends as well. We all had a big dinner together.
Once we got settled in, gave hugs and so forth, we all sat down. Courtney handed Kobie a bag with stuff in it. It had a pin of Mickey Mouse, and a pin of Donald Duck. He also got 2 Mickey Mouse puzzles, and a Mickey Mouse notepad. He loved it. Mel asked Kobie to hand me the clipboard. It had a note on it, and she asked me to read it out loud. It says “Josh and Amanda and Kobie, on May 14th you will be leaving for a 7 day vacation to Disney World!! Compliments of your friends and family- Enjoy! You deserve it!” At this point, my eyes were filled with tears as were Amandas. I was speechless. Our family (this includes Mel, Tim, and Courtney. I don’t consider them friends, I consider them family) and friends had gotten Amanda, Kobie and me a 7 day/6 night stay at Disney World in All stars Movies Resort. This also includes all of our meals, plus tickets to get in Disney for all of the days. It also includes round trip airline tickets from Raleigh to Orlando, and the Disney bus to/from our resort.They had even called Amandas work, scheduled for her to be off as well as calling Kobies school and getting him out for the week.
I don’t really know what to say, except THANK YOU to everyone who made this possible. I have wanted all of my life to go to Disneyworld, and frankly have never been able to afford it. I wanted to take Kobie but we never had the money to do it. This is honestly, a dream come true. We fly out of Raleigh on May 14th for a direct flight to Orlando and will be gone 7 days. I will post TONS of pictures once we get back and I have them up here. Thank you so much everyone, honestly I can’t express my gratitude.
On June 20th, they are also doing a benefit for Amanda and I at Westlake Country Club in Moneta, with a silent auction, bands, food, etc. It’s going to be fun, and I hope to see everyone there. I am going to make a seperate post and page with all of the details, once they become available to me. I am kinda speechless right now still, but thank you again. All of you guys are angels, and you make dreams come true.
