I know it’s been a while since I’ve updated. We came back to the hospital at 8am on Friday for the start of round 2 of chemotherapy. They didn’t start the chemo until almost 5pm. We were quite upset that we had to get there so early for nothing. Thankfully his mood changed when we got to the hospital, I think it’s because of all the visitors he has had. I know he gets bored at home with just me to talk to. Unfortunately, I still can’t get him out of the bed or to eat anything. Friday he had a bunch of visitors from work, which was good. He loves his work family. He also had a shoulder x-ray since his shoulder had been hurting since the surgery for the port. Saturday he had an MRI of his shoulder since the x-ray revealed nothing. The final conclusion of that was that he has a sprained shoulder and got a splint which he has yet to wear and physical and occupational therapy. The shoulder is doing much better and the port is great! Saturday he had more work visitors. Thankfully they were still there when they lifted the broken State Police Chopper off of the building to help me roll him down to the lounge to watch. That was interesting; the chopper had been up there since Wednesday due to transmission problems. They sent a Blackhawk on Saturday to move it. The police blocked off all of the roads between the hospital and the lifeguard building. It only took about 15 minutes. That has been the only day that I have been able to get him out of the bed since our stay at RMH. Saturday night Josh was on his own, I came home and had a “sleep-over” with Kobie at my moms, which reminded me why I never let Kobie sleep with me. That child is just like me….he hogs the whole bed. Last night my parents brought Kobie to see Josh at the hospital. Thankfully Kobie wasn’t as scared of Josh during this visit. Today was okay, Josh slept most of the day. I left him about 2 to come to work. When I get off at 11 I am going to get him some smaller boxers and going back to RMH to stay the night with him. Tomorrow will be the fifth day of round two, after tomorrow we will be half way through!!!! Hopefully we will be able to leave around 2 or 3 tomorrow.
