Congratulations, Robert Stone!

Pain is temporary, quitting lasts forever

Robert Stone, is one of my nurses at Roanoke Memorial on 10 south. He’s one of the greatest nurses on that floor. When I first started “living” at the hospital basically, it was a tremendous change for both Amanda and I. Robert was my first night shift nurse there. He took such good care of me, and Amanda. Ever since I’ve been through this journey, Robert has taken such great care of us and done everything he could for us to make us feel at home at the hospital. Thank you Robert! Here is a story from the American Cancer Society:

Stone Honored with ACS Award
The American Cancer Society (ACS) recently named Robert Stone, R.N. as recipient of the 2009 Lane Adams Quality of Life Award recognizing exemplary cancer care. Robert works on 10 South in Oncology at CRMH.
Robert was awarded the honor for his excellence in caregiving and for innovatively and consistently providing outstanding compassionate care to cancer patients and their families. The ACS program is the only national multidisciplinary award for excellence in caring.
Robert is one of 15 award recipients who will be honored at the ACS board of directors meeting in Atlanta on May 8. Congratulations Robert!
